Traits Of Successfull Poker Websites

Every poker webmaster wants to make their website a success, and to do that you need to win the interest of your visitors. As a new affiliate I used to browse across loads of different poker related websites to see what they were doing to make their sites successful. After a while I started to see what made a poker website great, and what websites I would often return to for more information. So here is what I believe all the most successful poker websites out there have in common…

The website is created with the visitor in mind

Sometimes when you visit a website, you can tell that the owner just threw up the site to try and earn some money as best they can. You can easily get a feeling when a webmaster doesn’t really take interest in the information they are providing to their visitors, as they are just out there to get your money.

Some websites on the other hand just seem to go out of their way to provide you with the information that you were looking for, and to help you find what you are looking for. It is these sites that people love and are going to return to on a regular basis, so always think about providing your visitors with the best experience possible when they visit your site.

Lots of good content

Good quality content is going to be the backbone of almost every poker website. We can safely assume that most people don’t surf the Internet to just look at the designs of websites; they are looking for information about their chosen topic. After all, I’m assuming you are reading this article right now for some information, and not because you like the pretty colors of the site. So the more useful and interesting content you have on your site, the more likely it is that you site is going to do well.

If you think about it, I’m sure you have come across websites in your time that have made you want to browse through all the information they have on offer. We are talking about the websites that you only intend to visit for about 10 minutes, but end up spending an hour or more on them. These are the kind of websites you should be looking to build, and you should keep that in mind every time you work on your site.

If you can provide loads of great articles for your visitors, you can expect them to stay around your site a lot longer, and it will be more likely that they will tell others about your website too. So with every article you write, aim to give your visitor something to shout about.

Content Writing Tips

Well structured

This is something that we all overlook, but we notice it when something is not right… a good website structure. Sure, it’s awesome to provide your visitors with lots of great information, but its going to be pretty useless if they can’t get to it! So make it as easy as possible for your visitors to get to all of your content, and allow them to see what you have on offer for them.

This is always a lot easier said than done, I will tell you that for free. Before I started this website, I spent a ridiculous amount of time making rough designs of where I was going to put my content, and how the site was going to be structured. It really bothered me to think that my articles and information might go to waste if I didn’t have a good linking structure throughout the site, so I spent as much time as I could to get everything the way I wanted.

Although it may look like pretty simple work to get the site the way it is now, it actually took a lot of thought about what visitors wanted to see when they got to the website. I’m hoping that current structure works well, but I’m always going to try and improve the delivery of my information if possible. So always try and think about where you are going to put your content, and keep everything in places that visitors would expect to see it. It’s your hard work; so don’t bury it!

Honest information

Whenever you are looking to determine which product might be best for you, you will naturally look for information to help you decide on what to choose. So whenever a visitor comes to your site and you are offering poker room reviews, make sure you are being honest and give a critical review of the rooms you are promoting. If you fail to provide a visitor with enough pros and cons of each of the rooms on offer, they will look elsewhere for more information and you will lose a potential player.

Say for example you are deliberating what sandwich you are going to buy for lunch and you come up to me to ask for my opinion (trust me its going to be a good analogy). If I tell you that sandwich A is brilliant and sandwich B is equally excellent, you haven’t really got much to work with, and you will probably look for someone who can give you an honest opinion. It’s just going to be the same with poker reviews.

You might thinks it’s a good idea to big up each room as much as possible, but if you can’t help your visitor to distinguish between which rooms will be best for them, they are just going to look to another site for more honest information and opinions.

Writing Poker Room Reviews

These are the few pointers that I always feel constitute to what makes a great poker website. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that I didn’t actually mention that a good design makes a poker website successful. Just as long as I can find the information I need and it’s interesting, I couldn’t care less about what the website looks like, and I’m sure you don’t either. So don’t pressure yourself into feeling as though your site won’t be successful until you find an exceptional design, just focus on content and delivery and there is no doubt that you will be on the road to success.
