Poker Affiliate Investment – The Cost Of Starting Up

To start up a decent poker site, you are going to need to spend a little bit of money. However, you don’t necessarily have to spend substantial amounts of money to create a great website and get it up on the web. For most reading this article, you probably have no idea about how much it’s going to cost to make a solid poker website, and maybe you don’t have too much money to spend to get your site started. Nonetheless, you easily make a profitable poker website without having to spend too much money at the start. So, let’s take a look at the poker affiliate investment list and the cost you will be able to cover when planning to start your own business.

To give you a rough outline of how much it will cost to get a decent affiliate website up on the web, I will make a short list of the expenses that you will incur as a new poker affiliate with a grand total at the end. I will also give two examples; one where you have a minimal starting amount, and another where you have a little more to start with. It probably isn’t going to cost half as much as you think to get your first website up and running…

Minimal Starting Amount
Domain Name: $10
Hosting: $5 (for one month)
Design: – (free template)
Total: $15

Standard Starting Amount
Domain Name: $10
Hosting: $60 (year in advance)
Design: $200
Total: $270

I’m guessing that these figures are not quite as high as you might have expected, especially for the minimal starting amount total. In honesty, you could start up a site for cheaper with free hosting and domain name from somewhere, but the hosting space is going to be small, and you will have some strange looking or domain name. It’s going to be hard to give much credibility to a site like that, so just fork out that $15 to get the basics sorted out. It really isn’t that much of an investment , and if you’re not willing to pay that, then maybe poker affiliating isn’t for you.

Design Is The Difference

As you can see, the main difference between starting out with more money is that you can afford to buy a custom website design. This is a great way to get a unique site design and make something that stands out from the crowd, but it is not something that is essential to making a profitable website. As I have mentioned in other articles, a nice website design is great, but at the end of the day all you are going to need is some quality content and get links pointing to your site. So there’s no need to worry about not having a completely unique design for your site; a free template will work just as well.

If you search Google, you can find some great sites that will allow you to download free templates that you can customize in your webpage editing program. These free website templates (and more free templates) are perfect to start out with, and are highly recommended if you are not going to be purchasing a custom design. Similarly, if you intend on running a wordpress blog, you can get your hands on some wonderful free themes if you search around.

At the end of the day, you really do not need to spend all that much money to get started with a great poker website. You can spend $1000+ to get a great design and so on, but this does not mean that your site will be a success. A person that only spends $15 to get their site up and running stands just as much chance as someone else that spends $1000 to get their site up and running. You don’t have to spend lots of money to become successful, all you need to do is work hard to produce lots of quality content and work on SEO.

If however you have a little bit of money to play with at the start, it is worth getting your hands on a custom designed template to give your site some identity. If you have the money at hand but are a little concerned about spending it, I wouldn’t be too concerned about losing it because of the fact that you could easily sell your site and regain you money if you decide poker affiliating isn’t for you.

Either way, starting up a poker website isn’t expensive, and nor should it be. You can spend as much or as little as you like, but just make sure to get a decent domain name and solid hosting and you will be on the right track. You can always sort out a new design later down the road if you decide to.
